Swimming Lessons!

While we were in Lake Tahoe, Nana started Aiden in swimming lessons with Bryan's cousin Emily. I thought this was a great idea! Especially since the little incident that happened at the pool the other day. Aiden was playing on the steps in the pool, when his rubber ducky floated away from him. He decided it would be a good idea to jump in after it. Luckily I was right there to grab him, but it still scared me pretty good! He went under all the way and just didn't know what to do. Swimming lessons has really helped him to begin to learn the basics of swimming. Emily taught him how to blow bubbles, kick his legs, climb out of the water, and jump in. He loves the water! It's so fun to watch him learn how to swim!! He is much better at kicking his legs and really trying to swim when he's in the water now! Emily did a great job!! Isn't this picture so cute of the two of them?!!

5 year Anniversary!!

Bryan and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary on June 26! Wow can you believe it has been 5 years already?! I can't! Time has flown by so fast! I absolutely LOVE being married to this guy! He makes me SO happy! To celebrate we left Aiden with Nana and Poppa and headed to Lake Tahoe for a couple of nights. Bryan's grandparents have a time share there so we were able to stay for free! This was my first time leaving Aiden over night. I think it was harder on me than it was on him! He didn't even care that we were gone, he had such a great time with Nana and Poppa! It was so nice to be able to go and not worry about him!

Monday morning we started out by eating breakfast at the famous Red Hut Cafe! Let's just say delicious!
After that we headed over to Vikingsholm State Park and hiked down to Emerald Bay. The lake was gorgeous! The hike down wasn't so bad, but it was a little more difficult on the way up. Here's the gorgeous view from the top.
Once we got down to the Lake we went on a tour of this mansion built in the early 1900's. It was beautiful!

After our hike, we drove around the lake, and then got ready and went out for dinner at The Riva Grill. We went to this place on our honeymoon and really liked it. This place sits right on the lake. The food was delicious and the scenery gorgeous!

That night we went and saw The Proposal at the movie theatre. I can't remember the last time we went to a movie! We usually just get movies for free at the library. It was fun to go to the theatre for a change!

Recent Sewing Projects

I was tired of our plain plastic shower curtain but I didn't want to pay the price to buy a new one. I found this white fabric for $1.50 a yard and added this striped fabric I already had to the bottom. I wish now I would have done a plain blue fabric on the bottom, but I still really like it!

I saw this Amy Butler Birdie Sling on Brooke's blog and thought it was so cute, I just had to make one for my sister-in-law! I went to the store looking for a pattern only to discover it cost $13! I just couldn't get myself to pay that much. So after doing some looking online I found this great photo tutorial and a list of all the supplies. So this is the finished product. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. Now I just need to make one for myself!

Father's DAY!

I am so behind in my blogging! So bear with me while I try to play catch up! Father's Day weekend we decided to go to The Bass Shop in Manteca. Aiden loved seeing all the animals, waterfalls, the huge fish, driving the boats and the fourwheelers, etc. It's a really fun place! You walk inside and you feel like you are in the wilderness. Aiden loved it! While we were there we bought some of their yummy fudge and took it to my father-in-law for Father's Day. It was fun to surprise them. They had no idea we were coming. Bryan spent the afternoon helping his dad work on their house and Aiden and I played with Nana. After dinner we drove back home.

On Father's Day Aiden and I made Bryan breakfast then went to church.

After church we got together with some friends for a Father's Day BBQ. We had a great time and the food was delicious! Bryan also got a framed photo of Aiden to put on his desk at work. I had Aiden's 18 month pictures done without telling him, so he was super surprised. All in all we had a great weekend! I have the best husband in the world! He is such a great dad! Happy Fathers Day!

The Hoe Down Throwdown!

Give a shout out for Hannah Montana's awesome backup dancers!! Okay okay so not really, but pretty close. So for the Enrichment talent show a couple weeks ago some friends, Kate and Angie, and I got together and performed Hannah Montana's Hoe Down Throwdown line dance. Here we are all decked out before leaving for the performance. The idea was to do Big Texas hair with lots of jewelry. I definitely look the most ridiculous! lol But we had a great time! Sorry I can't seem to get the video of our performance to load. You'll just have to image how great it was!
