It's Always Fun When Aunt Jen Comes ... Hooray!

We had such a fun weekend! Aunt Jen came to visit! She came on Friday night. We ate homemade pizza, we played with Aiden, put him to bed, watched a movie, had brownies and ice cream then stayed up after midnight talking. Then Saturday morning we ate French Toast for breakfast. We got ready and headed to Babies R Us. We currently only have a Jogging Stroller so we bought a cheap umbrella stroller and then headed to the Mall. We didn't really buy anything but it was fun to walk around and see all the cute stuff. We went in Pottery Barn Kids. Aunt Jen found this cute lion on sale that she bought for Aiden. He loves it! After that we went to lunch at Chevy's. Yum yum! It was so good! We especially loved the fresh made tortillas! After that we went home and visited some more before she had to leave to go back home. We had such a great time and can't wait to have her come again! Thanks Jen for the great time!

Aiden's new toy!

Last Christmas my sister bought Aiden this great toy, it's called a Ball Popper. Anyway we just got it out a week or so ago and he hated it at first. Anytime we started it he would scream and cry because he was scared. We had Aiden's friend Brooklyn over this week. She is a little older than him and thought the Ball Popper was so much fun! This seemed to help Aiden get more excited about it too. Now he loves it and screams because he's excited!

New Carseat!

We finally bought Aiden a new carseat. The poor little guy was still riding in his old one with his legs hanging off the end. Now he gets to sit up and see out the window. He likes it a lot better!

Yes my little boy has started to figure this whole walking thing out! Last Friday he took 12 steps in a row. Since then he has been walking all over the place!

My Great Find!

Anyone who knows me knows that I love shopping at Thrift stores. I must have inherited this gene from my mother. There is just something exciting about it... it's like a treasure hunt. You have to search through all the junk to find the hidden treasure. I just love finding cute stuff for a great deal! Anyway during one of my hunting experiences I found this cute red chair to sit at our desk for $3.00! I love it! It's just perfect!

Aiden's first Giants game!

Well I guess technically that's not true. He did go when we were here for Bryan's internship over a year ago. I was pregnant with him, but that doesn't count. Last week he got to go for real! Bryan got free tickets from his boss at work! Yippee! I was a little worried how Aiden would do because last time we went to a big game he cried everytime the crowd cheered. I decided he would probably enjoy it more now that he is a little older. So we went and sure enough he loved it!! He had so much fun looking at all the people, looking at all the lights, playing with the baby in front of us, cheering with dad and dancing to the music. We had a great time! We hope we can go again sometime.

Ten months!

My little boy turned 10 months last week. I know I'm a little behind... here's an update

By 10 months Aiden...

learned how to point

got his top two teeth

waved bye bye (I'm still trying to get this on video, whenever I get the camera out he stops and cheeses it for the camera)

stood up on his own from the ground and stood without holding on (this isn't a great video, he can actually do a lot better than this)

took his first step without holding on to anything (he has actually taken 4 or 5 steps now)

said nana, mama, dada, baba, mor (when he wants more) and banana - Bryan thinks this last one was just a coincidence but I don't think so. I was getting a banana off the fridge and he saw it and got really excited and said "ba na na" I really think he said it and knew what it meant!

The other thing he does now that is really cute is he does the popcorn popping actions to The Popcorn song. I'm still trying to get it on video.

Summer Has Come and Gone..

I can't believe summer is already over! It has been one busy summer for us. Bryan spent most of the summer working. He completely remodeled a house for his Uncle including all new tile and carpeted floors, patched and retextured walls, put in new cabinets, new appliances, new tile countertops, tile shower, new baseboard, new doors, new trim, new blinds, and paint. This place looks amazing! Bryan did an awesome job as he always does! When he wasn't remodeling he was helping his dad build their new home. I kept busy taking care of Aiden, teaching piano lessons, planning Enrichment dinners and nursery lessons, helping Bryan tile, completing sewing projects, scrapbooking, reading, and trying to find a place to live. This last one proved to be more of a challenge than we expected. After several trips to San Jose, looking at several places to rent, finding a place to rent then deciding to make an offer on a house instead, the offer falling through, looking at more places to buy, making another offer that didn't work out infact several offers, then looking at more places to rent... we finally found a place to live! I think we made around 6 trips to San Jose trying to find a place! It was crazy! We were hoping to try to buy something because rent is so expensive right now, but it just didn't work out. So for the time being we are renting. It seemed to work out just perfectly though. I was so stressed out about trying to find a place. Bryan had already started his job at Deloitte in San Jose and Aiden and I were still living in Modesto with my in-laws. The drive is too far for Bryan to commute every day so he stayed all week with some friends. That weekend we decided we needed to head back to San Jose for the 6th or 7th time and try to find a place. We said lots of prayers and headed on our way. We looked at a couple of places that weren't very promising. Let's just say I wouldn't have felt very safe to take Aiden on a walk if we lived there. The next place looked a little more promising. It was in a great neighborhood, a really nice apartment, had a washer and a dryer in the apartment, lots of storage space... this was it! We couldn't figure out why this place was the same price as some of these other places we looked at. It was so much nicer! Come to find out there were some tenants who were supposed to move in the day before but they backed out at the last second, so in order to fill the apartment in quickly they lowered the rent $100 every month. So as long as we moved in within the next 3 to 4 days we could get $100 off the rent price every month! Perfect! We wanted to move in right away any way. This was great! We felt good about it and knew that our prayers had been answered. We are going to miss living with Bryan's parents. They have been so good to us. Aiden loves his nana and papa! We thank you for everything! And we will visit lots!

The Annual Fishing Trip

Every summer the Rowe family gets together and goes camping and fishing at Clarks Fork in California. Bryan and his brother Eric look forward to this trip all year. They just can't wait to get those fishing poles out and catch those fish. Unfortunately the water was really low and the fishing was not all that great. But we still had a great time! This was Aiden's first camping trip and he loved it for the most part. He thought it was great fun to play in the dirt with his cousin Jack. The only problem was he kept trying to eat it and after he got it in his mouth he didn't care for it too much. I tried to find other ways to keep him out of the dirt... playing in some freezing cold water (he loves the water, this water was freezing but once he got used to it he didn't mind at all), going for a little hike, going on walks, playing in the back of the truck, and playing in the tent and in the pack n' play.

We managed to keep him from eating too much dirt and had fun in the mean time. We can't wait for next year!
