Trip to Washington

As you notice I haven't blogged in a while. That's because I haven't been home. My sister Teresa called me last Saturday and told me she was going to go to Washington with her kids to see the family. I told her that I wanted to go see them sometime... so Teresa being the adventurous and loving sister she is came to Provo and picked me up on her way!! (except it was it was more like out of her way!) I told her she didn't need to do that, but she insisted. She was in Rexsburg at the time, visiting her in-laws for Easter weekend. So my 8 month pregnant sister and her four kids made the 5 hour trip to Provo on Easter night and her poor husband rode the bus home to Montana. They stayed the night and then we left for Washington on Monday morning. Bryan and David were very kind to let us go!! Thanks guys! We got to Pasco Monday night after a long day of driving. Aiden did pretty well. He was definitely tired of his car seat by the time we got there. We had a lot of fun visiting everyone. Thanks Jana for letting us stay at your home. We missed you mom and dad! (my parents are on a mission so we stayed with Jana)
Here are some pictures from the trip...

Rollin, Rollin, Rollin

Aiden first rolled over at 6 weeks and has rolled over several times since then (all by accident), but he has never quite figured out how to do it....until today. We were playing on a blanket in his room and encouraging him to roll over and he finally has it figured out! He can only go from his stomach to his back for now, but he is already really close to figuring out how to get back onto his stomach. Everytime he rolls over he gets a huge grin on his face, it is really cute. In fact, he was so enthused with his new trick that he tried it in the bathtub...let's just say he is not a fan of bath water in the nose and mouth. Anyway....here is the proof that the little guy is now becoming mobile!!!

Latest Sewing Project

It all started with a trip to Old Navy. I was looking for some clothes for my little boy and according to the signs they were having some good sales. (Aiden has currently out grown most of his 3-6 month clothes and most of his 6-9 month clothes are shorts and t-shirts because he's not supposed to be wearing them for a couple more months!! So I needed to find him some pants to wear right now.) Anyway, I found some cute pants and some socks that were on sale and I went to buy them. Well come to find out only the single socks not the packages of socks were on sale... so I said I didn't want them. Then the cashier said the pants weren't on sale either! I told her the sign said they were 2 for$20... so another lady went back and checked and came and said that only the newborn 6-12 month pants were on sale, not the toddler 6-12 month... (the pants I had were newborn, and there's no such thing as toddler 6-12!) Anyway in the mean time there were 5 customers waiting anxiously in line... so I just said forget it and didn't get anything. Well my next stop was Wal-Mart while I was there I was looking at the fabric and decided I would just make Aiden some clothes instead! I know crazy huh! I bought some dollar fabric to make some sweat pants and some dress pant. When I got home I decided I had enough fabric to make a sweatshirt too... oh man am I crazy! Anyway so here it is, the finished product... the sweatshirt and sweat pants. I still haven't made the dress pant yet. It was a lot of work! But a lot of fun as well. I put Aiden's initials on the front because I felt like it needed something there. Anyway here is Aiden's $1.00 outfit!!

Babysitting

I have been babysitting the neighbor girl once a week while her mom works. She is 3 years old and so cute! It has been a lot of fun. Her favorite story is Goldie Locks and The Three Bears so one day we made puppets and acted out the story. She loved that! She can tell you the whole story by heart... and knows what each character says. We have also made a lot of cookies... she loves making cookies! Every time she comes she asks if we can make cookies. I don't mind and Bryan definitely doesn't mind! :) She even does the dishes afterwards! What 3 year old do you know likes doing the dishes? She also loves reading books. We usually spend atleast an hour everytime just reading books. Her mom has taught her well! I hope Aiden likes to read as much as she does. He seems to enjoy it right now. He sits and listens as we read the stories and jabbers along. Lately he tries to grab the pages and put them in his mouth. Anyway we have a lot of fun. I was a little worried about doing it at first with Aiden, but she just entertains herself while I feed him or change him. And she loves playing with him which is really nice.

Poor Bryan!

Yesterday was quite the day. Bryan had been having really bad chest pains for quite a while and heart burn that wouldn't go away. He finally went to the doctor and had to go in for an EGD yesterday. This is where they stick a camera down your throat to check things out. Anyway we didn't realize what kind of an ordeal this was going to be. His dad had this done and was in and out in no time. I guess they just used a spray to numb his gag reflex... well this is not what they did to Bryan. I dropped him off around 8 in the morning then expected to pick him up around 8:45 or 9:00. I didn't hear from him and didn't hear from him. It finally got to be 10:30 and I got a call from the office letting me know I could come and hear what the doctor had to say and then take him home. Cindy watched Aiden for me so I could go. When I got there Bryan was lying in this bed completely out of it. They ended up putting him to sleep during the procedure and gave him drugs that caused amnesia like symptoms. They told Bryan to give them my number because he might not remember it afterwards. He kept telling them, oh I'll remember it's in my phone. Surprisingly he remembered it! I asked him what my number was and he rattled it off without any problems. When Bryan woke up he was hilarious! Poor guy, he kept telling me the same stories over and over again. The nurse kept coming in to tell him that he needed to just rest, but oh no he wanted to talk! He was telling me all about his experience over and over again. There was this guy who has had this surgery done 5 times... Did they tell you I passed out? (No they haven't but you have 10 times) But the cutest thing was that he kept asking about Aiden... Is Aiden okay... how's Aiden doing, is he okay? I kept telling him that he was just fine. Bryan was the one that we needed to be worried about. I guess before the procedure took place they stuck a needle in his arm for the IV. He was in this room with all these other guys waiting to get called back when he passed out and was sick to his stomach. This was before they even did the procedure. Anyway he had no idea how out of it he was. After the surgery he thought he was going to go to class. He was worried about taking his quiz. He couldn't even sit up or stand up on his own! He was definitely not going to class! I told him I would write his teacher an email... thankfully she was very understanding. The doctor finally came and showed us the pictures. He said that there is definitely some irritation there either caused from a food allergy or from Acid Reflex. Bryan's dad, brother and sister all have Acid Reflex so it's probably that. Anyway the doctor is supposed to call back in a couple of days and let us know for sure. They took a sample of the irritated area and are supposed to test it. Sorry these pictures are really blurry, but if you can see this is what it is supposed to look like all smooth... the next picture is what it looks like... all bumpy and irritated!

When we got home I helped Bryan down the stairs as we were walking I said, "You should be on this side with the hand rail," Bryan said, "oh I'm okay I have this ledge." (He was very independent.) I took him into the bedroom and put him to bed. I then made him some food and brought it in to him. He ate, drank and then fell asleep for a long time. I felt so bad for him, he was so sleepy and just not feeling good! He's still not feeling great today. HOpefully they will figure out what the problem is and help him to feel better!! I want my happy feel good husband back!

Sewing FuN!

My husband bought me a Bebe Au Lait for Christmas and I absolutely love it! If your not sure what that is, it's a nursing cover. Trust me it is so much better than trying to use a blanket while you are nursing. For one thing it has the piece that comes up and around the neck so you don't have to worry about it falling down. It also has this plastic piece called boning at the top of the neck so it pokes out just enough so you can look down and see your baby while nursing, it also has a clothe piece in the corner so you can wipe their mouths if you need to, and it is light weight so you don't get all hot and sweaty. Anyway I just thought it was the greatest thing, and it didn't look like it was all that hard to make so I gave it a shot. The tricky part was figuring out what the plastic piece was. My friend finally discovered it was boning... you can buy it at Joannes!

Anyway so I made one and it turned out just like the one my husband bought me. I told Cindy and Caroline about it and they decided they would like to make one too... so we had a fun sewing day and each made one. Cindy even made her's double sided which is super cute! Anyway I have made three now with matching diapies and wipies bags. I plan to give them away as gifts! Hopefully they will like them as much as I do!

4 Month Old Photo Shoot!

Aiden is 4 months old! Wow where has the time gone! I was trying to take some pictures of him and he was making some pretty funny faces. His nanna bought him this cute shirt and sweater vest for Christmas. I wanted to get some pictures with him wearing them before he grows out of them. His 3-6 month clothes are already getting too small for him!! Especially in the arms... he's got long arms like his daddy. Maybe he'll play water polo and be a swimmer like his dad.. He does like the water! Anyway I thought some of these pictures were cute so I wanted to share them! He's a silly and fun little boy!

Happy Birthday!

I had quite the weekend. My birthday was on Saturday but the celebration started on Friday and went until Sunday! It was great! On Friday Bryan surprised me with a dozen beautiful roses! Then around 10:00 that night I got a call from my siblings. They were all together and sang Happy Birthday to me. Then on Saturday Bryan took me to one of my favorite restuarants to eat... P.F. Changs! MMMMmmm... I love this place! And I especially love their lettuce wraps!! If you have never had them you must try them sometime! Jared and Cindy were nice to watch Aiden for us so we could go out! Thank you!
After we got home my visiting teachers came over with flowers and a cute teddy bear! My parents, my in-laws, and my friend Melinda called to wish me a Happy Birthday. On Sunday my Visiting Teaching partner gave me a card. After church we had a birthday dinner with Jared and Cindy (my brother and sister-in-law) and Jason and Caroline (Bryans cousin and her husband). We had twiced baked potatoes, chicken, salad and rolls! It was so yummy! I think I learned how to make those potatoes from Lyza. Remember Lyza when I stayed at your house for a week and we made twiced baked potatoes and your dad barbequed that steak? That was so good! Anyway then we had my favorite...ice cream cake! I got a call from Teresa and her family... they sang Happy Birthday and She's the Jolly Good Fellow...it was really cute. Oh and that night my brother Lance and his wife Brianna called. So thank you to everyone for remembering my birthday and for making it so great!

Bryan bought me some See's Chocolates! He knows what kinds I like... all milk chocolate and lots of caramel! As you can see I have already eaten some.
