Utah Flash Game

The Elder's Quorum got tickets to go see a Utah Flash game on Friday night. The Flash are the minor league team for the Utah Jazz so it was like glorified college ball but it was free so we can't complain. Aiden had lots of fun at his first game. It appears Aiden is going to love sports just like his dad...this is a very good sign!

After the game it was really cold so Aiden got to share dad's jacket.

Bath Time!

Aiden is finally starting to enjoy his baths. We currently do not have a bath tub so we use the kitchen sink. He doesn’t seem to mind

Look at those chubby arms!

Me and My Teddy

Aiden loves his bears. He has this bear mobile that hangs above his bed. Around 11 o’clock every night he’s wide awake and in the best mood. He just smiles and laughs and talks to his bears. It’s the cutest thing ever!

Aiden's Birth Announcement

Once we got back from Christmas break I decided it was time to make Aiden's birth announcement. I was going to scrap book the announcements and make them using cute paper and stamps but I decided that would take too long, so I made them on the computer instead. We don't have a photo shop program so I made them using Powerpoint. I created the slide and then saved it as a picture and then had them printed. I had so much fun making them that I couldn't stop with one. I ended up making four and then picked the one I liked the best to send out to family and friends. Here are the three that I didn't use. Everyone should have theirs by now. If you didn't get one please let me know and I'll send you one. There are a few of you that I am still working on getting addresses for. So hopefully you'll have yours soon.

Two Month Check Up

On the Monday after we returned from California, my parents stopped by to say good bye before they headed off to Chicago. They had spent a week at the MTC and then were on their way. It was great to see them again before they left. After my parents left we took Aiden to have his two month check up. He was 23inches long and weighed 11 pounds 4 ounces. 4 inches longer and 4 pounds heavier than when he was born! He’s just growing so fast! It seemed like he was wearing his newborn clothes forever and then all of a sudden he was out growing his 0-3 months and starting to wear his 3-6 month clothes.

Aiden's First flight

Aiden did really well on all of the flights. He slept most of the way to Washington, all the way to California, and part of the way back home to Utah. He was a little fussy on the last flight, but as soon as he started eating he was just fine. Aiden loves to eat! He thinks he’s staving all the time. He still likes to eat at least every two hours and sometimes every hour. This makes it difficult to get much done. I take advantage of his two hour nap during the day to clean and shower. He usually takes at least one good nap during the day and sometimes two. However we try not to let him sleep too much because then he doesn’t sleep at night. Aiden is a fighter when it comes to sleep. He can be completely passed out and then as soon as I lay him down his eyes pop open. This happens usually at least 3 or 4 times before he finally gives in. He just can’t stand to miss out on anything. When he’s awake he loves to be held and walked around and has to be facing out so he can see everything. If you try to snuggle him facing you he arches his back and pushes away. He is already so busy, he’s constantly moving his head from side to side and kicking and flailing his arms. He is so strong. When he is lying on his back he does half sit ups to try to sit up and when he’s on his tummy he pushes himself up with his arms. The first time he rolled over was when he was 7 1/2 weeks old. Of course he didn’t realize what he was doing, but still I couldn’t believe it! He has rolled over a couple more times since then. I have to be careful not to leave him places where he might roll off.

The Mission Call

The next few weeks we were busy finishing our classes and taking care of Aiden. When my parents got back to Washington they discovered their mission call in the mail. They got called to the Chicago South Mission and were to go into the MTC December 31st! That was only 4 weeks away and right during Christmas vacation. Luckily Bryan and I were able to take all of our finals the last week of class before finals week, and go home a few days early to spend some extra time with my parents before they had to leave. We spent two weeks in Washington with my family, and another week in California with Bryan’s family. I already posted some pictures of Christmas earlier, so I'm not going to post anymore. I am trying to catch up on everything that has happened over the last couple months so bare with me. My parents had a lot to do in a short amount of time. We helped them clean out their house and get everything packed and ready to go. They spent a week at the MTC and then headed to Chicago. Luckily we live in Provo so they stopped by before they left.

We were so happy to see them again before they left. We are so proud of them and the sacrifice they are making to serve a mission. We will miss them!

Thanksgiving and Aiden's Blessing

Sorry these pictures are kind of out of order and I can't figure out how to change them around. Anyway here is my parents with us and Aiden on Aiden's blessing day. My sister Teresa and her family, my parents, Bryan's parents and sister Jennifer, Jared and Cindy, Jason and Caroline, and my cousins Alyssa and Josh all came for the blessing.
Grandma and Grandpa Monson with Aiden. Aiden was not too happy at this point.
Bryan’s parents and sister Jennifer came to Utah for the Thanksgiving holiday. It was so fun to have them here.
Jen made this beautiful blanket for Aiden. I love it!

On the Sunday after Thanksgiving Aiden received his baby blessing. Bryan gave him a beautiful blessing. We are so blest to have such a special little boy. Aiden didn’t make one peep during the entire blessing. He just slept the entire time. I was so glad. Thank you to everyone who made the sacrifice to come. We really appreciated having family and friends there.
I am waiting on an email with some more pictures from Aiden's blessing, when I get it I will post them.

One Sleepy Baby

Aiden and Dad taking a nap on the couch.
All Aiden wanted to do was eat and sleep for the first few weeks. This worked out great because Bryan and I were still trying to finish school. I took a week off from school and then went back on Monday. My sister-in-law Cindy was great to help out and watch Aiden when Bryan wasn't available.

Look at this pose! Put your hands up! So funny!

At Home

My mom stayed here for a week. It was so great to have her here. She helped out so much!

Dad giving Aiden his first bath.
Aiden did not enjoy his first sponge bath. However when we washed his hair and put his head under the running water, he calmed right down. He loved it!

Getting Ready to Leave

On Monday we got ready to go home. Here Grandma is helping put Aidens socks on. He didn't like it very much.
Here's Aiden before we left. I can't believe how small he was. He's so big now.

At the Hospital

Cindy, Jared and Jack came and visited us at the hospital on Sunday. They also brought us some yummy dinner. Thanks so much!
Bryan's cousin Caroline and her husband Jason also came on Sunday night. This is Caroline holding Aiden. So cute!

Aiden's Birth

On Halloween I was sent to the hospital again because my blood pressure was really high, and the doctor was worried about Preclampsia. So I spent Halloween night at the hospital hooked up to the monitors. Bryan was taking a test at the time, he hurried over as soon as he was finished. I was having consistent contractions and for awhile it looked like I would be going into labor. While I was there the contractions stopped and my blood pressure went down so they sent me home again. A couple days later I went in to check my blood pressure at the doctor’s office and sure enough my blood pressure was back up again, so they decided they would induce me the following day just to play it safe. I called my parents to tell them the news. My mom bought a plane ticket immediately for the following morning. We got to the hospital around 7:30am. While we were there my blood pressure once again went down and my other tests came back just fine so it turned out that I didn’t have preclampsia. The doctor said that I could go home again. By that time, I was ready to have this baby and so tired of being sent home with out one, plus my mom was already on her way. The doctor checked me and I was already dialated to a 3 and 80% effaced so he said “let’s go for it”. So they started me on pattosin right away. Around 5:30 my mom arrived at the hospital just as I started pushing. At 6:21pm, our beautiful son was born. It was the most amazing experience.

Let's start from the beginning...the baby shower

So much has happened to us in the last couple of months that I decided I would start over and catch everyone up on the details that have transpired. The biggest event that has happened of course is the birth of our son. Aiden Eric Rowe was born on November 3, 2007 at 6:21pm at the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, 12 days before his due date. It was my third time at the hospital. I was sent to Labor and Delivery on October 24th when the nurse thought that my water broke. She was almost certain I would be induced that day. After doing a couple tests at the hospital they said I could go home. We were very relieved. That weekend my friends Janine Adamson and Jennifer Twyman gave me a baby shower. Thanks to everyone who came! We had a ton of fun. Janine and Jennifer did such a great job!

Chrstmas Nativity!

We had our annual Christmas Eve party this year with dinner, a talent show and acting out the nativity. Aunt Carolyn did a fabulous job with the costumes as usual. She made sure that each of the 24 cousins had a coustume. Aiden, Sariah, and Jaron were baby Jesus.

Christmas Break!

We had a wonderful time over Christmas break! We spent two weeks in Washington with my family and one week in California with Bryans family. Everyone was home this year for Christmas so we attempted to have family pictures taken.

Flight to Washington

My friend Meghan and her adorable twin boys were on our flight home to Washington for Christmas. It was so fun to see her! She was traveling by herself with her boys! Wow, she is amazing!

Aiden is 11 Weeks!

Aiden is 11 weeks old now! He is starting to smile lots and make funny noises. He is growing really fast and has already rolled over 3 times (he had no idea what he was doing).
