Quite the Day...

Melissa promised that I would post some pictures and tell about our "interesting" day we had on Monday. We'll start off with the fun things...for family night we carved our first pumpkin. Aiden was actually pretty funny about it. He didn't want anything to do with the seeds and guts of the pumpkin, but was highly interested in taking the lid off and wanted to play with the carving knife.

After carving our pumpkin, Aiden was ready for bed. He was taking a bath as normal...normal for him is splashing around like a crazy man and playing with his toys. He was standing next to the edge getting ready to get out and slipped and hit his head on the edge of the tub. He split his eyebrow wide open and was screaming really loud. We got him calmed down and got his eyebrow to stop bleeding, but it looked pretty bad. We decided that since he and Melissa were leaving the next day for Indiana we should have ot looked at. Since it was 8pm we took him to the urgent care...as you can see from the pictures he now has 3 stitches. Melissa and I hope none of you ever have to watch your children get sitches, it's pretty heartbreaking to see your child strapped to a bodyboard, unable to move, and screming as they get their face stitched up. Luckily it hasn't seemed to bother him too much and he has been pretty good about leaving it alone. Also, we are glad we went to urgent care instead of the ER because we were in and out in about an hour...we would probably still be there if we were at the ER. So...that was our crazy evening!

Oh poor Aiden. That's too bad it had to happen right before the trip. Hopefully he'll be his playful silly self for the grandparents.

Aww, poor Aiden. He goes from so happy to those miserable stitches pictures. So sad. But still so cute. The fun has begun! I'm betting he has stitches quite a few more times growing up :)

ouch! Poor little guy, and poor parents. It was probably more stressful for you; kids are so resilient. Hope it heals quickly!

Poor baby!! I feel even more sorry for you though. I probably would have been balling watching him get stitches!! I am glad he is ok!

oh how sad!!!! I am glad he's doing better. It was hard when Kylie broke her wrist last year. Not fun with a full arm cast. But it was purple and glittery!

So sad... Was there a lot of blood? I can't imagine having to watch your little guy get stitched up :( His little band aid is cute.
